So, my Address Book crashed yesterday, and I notice that it's managed to loose all my contacts, except for unhelpfully, myself and Apple Computer.

But, it's on my iPod. Reckon I can get it off the iPod somehow? It's currently set to sync the address book with the iPod as soon as I plug it in, and dumbly, I can't change the settings UNTIL i plug it in, at which point, it will be too late.

Any suggestions here?

Know anyone else with an ipod? Sync their ipod to your mac, change the settings, and then plug yours in, so you can charge, and manually copy over your contacts.

I've got no idea how to get the contacts back directly from the iPod, but this OSXHint may help recover the data all the same. Good luck. 🙂

If I'm not mistaken contacts on the iPod are stored in vCard format. Just browse to the Contacts folder using Finder. You should be able to drag them back into Address Book.

Also, quite handy you can backup and restore address books from the File menu.
