I installed the Adium the first time last night, but the Email notice doesn't work, I set the Email notice to speak out a text and display growl notification, but nothing happens for all my testing emails to both Yahoo and MSN accounts.

I'm just wondering, is there any special port I need to open on my router to get the Email Notice work? or what else I need to do?

Same here. I've never been able to make Adium tell me when I receive a new mail.

But now I really don't find it necessary, I am using Mail now. Much, much better, I really recommend you try it.

Well, I use the free Yahoo Mail primarily, it doesn't support POP, so I don't think I can use the Apple mail.

So the Email notice actually doesn't work in the current Adium version?

I haven't found a way to make Adium work yet.

But try this.

It is a widget that will notify you when you get a new mail in your Yahoo account. Hope it helps🙂

Do you have "Check for New Email" enabled in your account's preferences? Preferences->Accounts-> *your account* -> Options.

It's off by default.
