Hi guys

i have manually set Privacy Level to: All Accounts; Allow only contacts on my contact list.

but every now and then, i recieve some kinda spam with a website from some e-mail that even a 6 years old knows it is fake. when then recheck the privacy level. it reverts to: Block certain contacts...

any ideas why??? any spamming software being naughty??

Adium for some reason sets bad default privacy settings. Go to Adium -> Privacy Settings, then set it so only contacts on your list can contact you.

Well if they're already on your contacts list then there's pretty much nothing you can do. However, if they're "new" contacts then use something like the Challenge/Response plugin to block it. Set your question and answer, and stop being bothered by these random messages :)
