Is there away that adium can display how many new hotmail email's you have like msn messenger does?
 
Under your account go to option and check "check for new mail" then you should get a growl notification every time you get new mail.

Sorry to bump an old thread - but I found it thru Google and was wondering how do I disable the pop up notification and instead get a growl?
