My friend and I are both running the same Adium version (1.0.3) and we both have the same themes installed and settings but for some reason she can't change the transparency in her messages window. I know that you have to go to Preference > Messages > Color, then move the opacity slider. The problem is that she doesn't have the slider. The first picture is mine and the second is hers. I know she can move the bottom to reveal the little squares to save custom colors but the slider isn't above that, like on mine. I also noticed that it disappeared from my window as well for no reason but came back without me changing a thing. We tried waiting to see if it would just reappear on hers but that didn't work. She also quit and re-opened Adium, as well as restarted her computer but nothing seemed to work. I also know its not the theme's lack of support for transparency because like I said we are both running the same one and it works on mine. I should also mention we are both running 10.4.9. I did a search to see if it was a common problem but didn't come up with anything.

Interesting problem. I tried mine and I have the opacity slider ...

I would delete and then reinstall adium. If that doesn't work try deleting the preference file (after first making a backup).

Thanks, I'll have her try that later and hopefully that solves it.

Edit:
Replacing the plist didn't work but uninstalling and re-installing did the trick, thanks.
