On my work's network, most people are using Windows and IM each other via an internal SIP server. I used to be able to connect using Adium on Tiger. I don't know if something changed on the SIP server, in the Adium app, or in Leopard, but I do know I can no longer connect...

The setup instrux are for MSN Messenger (Windows): use email address as username, and connect to xyz.local server. The rest is done automatically.

For Adium, I found out that the SIP port is 5060. I can "telnet xyz.local 5060" to confirm the connection is working. The rest of the SIP setup in Adium seems straightforward: input username, server address, port # and password. I left other settings as default. Adium just always says "Connecting" but never connects.

Has any one dealt with / solved this one?? Please advise.

I've not had experience with using Adium for SIP, but I'm fairly certain that the Gizmo5 could handle it... there's an option at launch to log in to your own server instead of their service.

I have the same issue - just sits there saying "Connecting" but never connects.

Did you ever resolve this issue?

Right, I know this is an old thread!
I've got SIP working on Adium:

But it seems to be only for IM or something like this.
It won't work for VoIP Calls

Just see the configurations:

Hope this may help someone!
