Admin account setup error.

I lost my password to my admin account and i was trying to make another admin account using single user mode.. once i type in mount -uw/ it gives me and Illegal option error.. Does anyone know how i can fix this? and why is this happening?

I believe it's because you do not have a space before /

If that doesn't work try,

/sbin/mount -wu /
