How would you make a partition without the admin password? Is that possible

I understand the school's tech monkeys wanting to have their programs on your computer and their requirement that you abide by their rules, but how is it you don't have the Admin password on your own computer? :confused:

You have the restore disks - boot off the restore disks, and launch disk utility from there... or just use them to reset the admin password - if the techs complain, just tell them you want to have a second partition for use at home, where its none of their business what you do.

Yes, it's possible. Just reset the admin password. If that mac is truly yours, you should have the OS X install disks. If you do have the disks, then you can easily reset the admin password. :)

If they've set a firmware password. Unfortunately, that will prevent you from booting off the install disk. :(
