Hello everyone. I'm not sure anyone can help here, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I got a Mac Mini and used a time machine backup from my Macbook to transfer all my files, etc. That worked great, but I'm having an issue with trying to uninstall my CS6 Design Standard so that I can reinstall it after I deactivated from my Macbook.

When I go into Applications and try to uninstall Photoshop, for example, I get a configuration error, "Error: 1". It tells me to go to Adobe support and search for answer, but I'm getting nowhere there. CS6 has not transferred from my Macbook, at least not the full product, so I'm assuming I need to uninstall wherever is hanging out there so I can reinstall it, hence the error.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Thank you,
Lynne

Did you use the migration assistant, or just a time machine restore? I've found that the migration assistant does a very good job at moving things. I'm on the much older CS3 and have moved it across a number of upgrades with no problem this way.

Migration assistant is what automatically runs when you setup a new Mac, but if you did not use it at that time you will find it in utilities folder inside the applications folder.

Thank you, Boyd01. I did not use migration assistant, just the time machine backup. Are you saying I would need to do a reinstall of all my files via migration assistant then?

Thank you,
Lynne

When you uninstalled CS6 from the MBP, did you launch the uninstaller using the alias found at:

/Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS6

and the Deactivate option was checked? and you had access to the Internet?

Hi. Whenever I try to uninstall via the Adobe Uninstall, that you mentioned, I click on uninstall, say Photoshop and the window just closes, nothing happens, no message or anything. Thank you. Lynne

I've always kept my Adobe apps on the same laptop so I don't know if you should be getting a confirmation alert after de-activation or not.

But assuming that you did select the de-activate option, and you had Internet access during the uninstall procedure on your MBP, do you then get the Error 1 message when you try to install CS6 on your Mini?

Thank you, that brings up a good thought, I know I uninstalled on the MBP, but I will need to check to see if I did a deactivation as well. I will be back if needed. Thanks again, Lynne
