I'm looking to buy Adobe Creative Suite and have seen some websites that, on the surface look reputable, selling it for half price of the official Adobe site. Eg:
    http://www.evasoft.co.uk/
What's the catch? Is this illegal?

Never heard of them. I would be wary.

They're not even a Ltd company, the website is just over a year old (registered to an anonymous individual) even though they claim they've been operating since 1999.

    Doesn't fill me with confidence...

    caveat emptor

If you have final cut suite..you could get the latest package cs5.5 for half price from adobe before Sept 2011. It's the switch promotion.

sounds suspect ... the only place I have seen CS5 discounted is through Adobe on a Student discount

Looking at the small print on the website, they claim to be selling "OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), White Box, Brown Box versions", ie not retail packaged software.
