Greetings, fellow Mac users!

At first I've thought I might be crazy, but I caught it happening again! Flash Player uninstall window opened up, without any intervention on my part.

First time, I have thought that it must have been me who opened it, without being aware, but this time, I am 100 percent certain that I didn't do anything that I am aware of to cause this. It opened on itself. For real. I closed my MacBook screen, went away for a little bit, and when I came back, opened the display: it was there! The Flash Player uninstall dialog.

Can anyone who encountered this tell me what to do? Or has anyone encountered this phenomenon in first place? I will try to find what is causing this, but in meanwhile, if someone already know what is the cause, please tell me. I am having Flash installed just because sometimes I like to play those old browser games.

Thank you very much, in advance.

EDIT: running macOS High Sierra 10.13.3

Hard to take a screenshot, because it happens seemingly randomly, but here is that window that pops up.

I do not have any .dmg mounted. At all.

Here's what I'd do:

1. Download the free utility "App Cleaner".
2. Launch App Cleaner
3. Locate the flash player uninstaller app
4. Drag the flash player uninstaller over the App Cleaner icon and "let it go"
5. App Cleaner should offer to delete it. Do so.
6. Empty the trash
7. Reboot
8. Does the problem still occur?

You might also consider downloading "MalwareBytes" Anti-Malware for Mac, and run that...

MalwareBytes scan result came clean. I really don't know why is Adobe making their piece of software open up on its own like it's some sort of malware. I won't delete it, I am gonna wait and see if it happens again. There has to be a reason why this happens.

It happened again, and this time I saw it happen. Before, I used to see it after leaving my Mac and returning, now I saw it happen live.

I was doing stuff, and it just opened. Totally unprovoked.

I failed to see any unusual activity in console log.

This is driving me mad. I could just remove Flash completely and see if it will go, but I am curious to know why does this happen.

Seemingly randomness is just making it worse.

Are you sure it's a real Adobe Flash update?
Run Avast as well as Malware. Avast caught a few thing Malware didn't.

Avast full whole system scan came clean.

Yes, that was the first thing I have checked, since it happened for the first time.

But I took your advice, and run the full scan. Nothing, nothing at all.
