Adobe Light Room wont work

i downloaded a trial of LR and it wont work for beans.

upon loading it flashes an error that says "there was an error changing modules" or some such and then just dumps me in the library menu of LR. i assume the library module is the one with the problem becuase i can click on all the other modules without getting the error, but cant actually do anything else.

also, going LightRoom -> Preferences does nothing. the preference pane never shows

so u cant actuall using LR for anything at all. you cant import pictures or anything.

what version of os x are you running? what are your computer specs?

I'm having this issue right now.

I'm running Leopard, latest version. Anybody come across a fix for this? I downloaded it right from Adobe's website and its a waste of time reinstalling because that doesn't help either.
