Does anyone experience lag when using mission control and adobe apps?

I get the same issue with my M1 MacBook Air w/ 16GB of RAM when using Stage Manager.
I can put plenty of apps on one desktop and switch between them smoothly with Stage Manager but as soon as I load Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver etc. it slows to a crawl.
I eventually gave up and just put any Adobe apps on their own desktop.
