I'm about to purchase a new iMac. I'll primarily be using the computer for Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, and AfterEffects, but I will be running the CS3 versions of these programs.

Would the i7 Quadcore processor give me any added power with these programs? Are they optimized for multi-core processors? Do I need that kind of power or should I stick to the Core 2 Duo?

    Thanks!

You'll truly notice the quad core only in After Effects, with the others only when using filters etc.
