Adobe photoshop application background

Hello, I am a new Mac user, and I am wondering is there a way to have an application background behind your windows and tool bars a la the windows version of Photoshop?

Curious how to do this in macromedia applications as well.

You want to do this in Photoshop or all apps? In Photoshop you can do this by pressing the 'F' key.

I never minded it in Photoshop but is there a way to do this in Word? It always bothers the heck out of me...
