Hello:
My desktop computer is Mojave OS 10.13. I had the disc, Adobe Photoshop Elements software 6, but I've misplaced it when we moved. I would like to start using it again. I have the software installed on my computer. When I go to use certain elements on the menu over on the left side I get a message telling me it can't be opened and to try installing the disc again. Would anyone happen to know where I could find version 6.0? The version they have at the Apple app store is not compatible with my present computer. Thank you for any insight. -KD

Your best bet is to see if you can pick up a disk off ebay or similar.
Or if someone has one that they can give you which they no longer use.
I don't think it was available to download.

Ok, Ruggy. Thank you for response and input. -KD

Have you looked at moving away from greedy Adobe and switched to what some believe is better graphic design software that isn’t grossly overpriced or subscription based?

Check out the product line Affinity has to offer… and it’s compatible with your version of MacOS.

See: > https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/ <

I was also going to suggest Affinity if you can't find a copy of Photoshop.
It is very good and more complete but there is a learning curve of course which you may want to avoid.

The OP is talking about Photoshop Elements, which is a consumer-class, stripped down version of Photoshop. It is still sold as a perpetual license (i.e. not subscription) and runs about $90-$100 on Amazon. Whether or not that premium is worth it over the $50 for Affinity Photo is up to the individual user. A lot of it will come down to familiarity.

Creative Cloud is Adobe's subscription software targeted at graphics professionals, not consumers. There is nothing "overpriced" or lacking about Creative Cloud for those of us who use its component software every single day to make money. If CC seems expensive to you, then you're not the target market.

It is also useful for consumers and amateur photographers, particularly those with very large photo libraries.

Are you suggesting just because you have a person in your company that handles purchasing of the software and management of licenses, that the cost of such software is not relevant, or cannot be considered overpriced? I wouldn’t want to be in that target market… and good luck to the commission based Adobe sales person who lands such a customer… and i am sure there are many where researching what something costs compared to an equally capable AND COMPATIBLE product, is more of a hassle than to them than to do the cost saving… see, Affinity Photo isn’t some Photoshop “lite“ - it is a full blown Photoshop professional “replacement“ and when combined with their other 2 products (Publisher, AND Designer) it gives Creative Cloud a run for its money. And here is the kicker… its a lifetime license for less than than 1 month subscription of Adobe CC… If thats not considered expensive and “overpriced“ then i bet there is a Adobe sales person who wants to become your friend… Adobe has had it too good for too long - they let the parasitical Wall Street types run the company right into a steep decline.

For those who subscribe to all of the Adobe Apps I just accepted a special discount on my account. For a couple of dollars more than a Photoshop/Lightroom and Acrobat subscriptions you can get access to all apps. $39.99 a month vs the previous $54 a month for a year.

ummm....I do use LR/PS and subscribe, but $480 is more than a "couple of extra dollars" over $54?

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I'm not looking for a yearly subscription, since I don't use the app that much. I found a Adobe Photoshop Elements disc on ebay for $12.00. I may go that way. The next thing to do, will be to look to see what box I put the disc in. As for calling Adobe, I don't have the time to be talking and waiting to be connected. Again, thanks all for your input.

The subscription only relates to the full version of Adobe Photoshop; it's not relevant to your question about Photoshop Elements, which does not carry a subscription fee.

I already know that. Thank you.

Ok, so would anyone happen to know if Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 would be able to work on my OS macOS High Sierra 10.13.6? I'd be much obliged if anyone would let me know. Thank you. -Ella

UPDATE:
Not that I would've gotten an answer here, but never mind. I found my Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 disc!
