adobe Premiere trouble importing quicktime files

Working in Premiere CS5 and my quicktime files are importing very dark. Does not seem to be a way to lighten in the editor either, they are all the way up.

They are older quicktime files and are showing very dark. when I watch them in quicktime play they are fine, but when I import to premiere CS5 they are dark.

Also when I export in youtube standard setting on a project it's coming out dark and it is fine in the viewer. Is there some import and export preferences I need to fix?

My main issue is the import.
