Meh, "enhanced cloud syncing" can only mean git version control support to me. Creative Cloud, no thanks. I can use GitHub or whatever to sync my stuff easily and unintrusively. (LaTeX + git + GitHub) replaced (Pages + Dropbox) for me.

No option without subscription, no installations on any of my devices. It's really that simple.
Yep.

I used to give Adobe thousands a year to keep current, now I buy a font once in a while.

Subscription is saving me money, just not the way Adobe intended.

What do these apps even do? Considering they are not combined into one it tells me they are meant for you to kill your time if you are not a gamer.

I definately think the Photoshop apps should all be one thing. It makes no sense that they aren't, except thtat they are meant to be used with the styluses they introduced a few months ago and they don't want to charge people again.

You guys and gals should check Affinity Designer from Serif — an early Adobe Illustrator competition. Still a long way to go in terms of a production ready software but it's very very promising. And the best bit? It's only a one off 30 bucks and they plan the whole suite!
