Used in construction (dirty/gritty) environment for over six months now, without a screen protector, not a single scratch on my iPad 2 screen. My iPad 3 has seen heavy use (maybe 30 hours of note-taking/sketches) in the past two weeks and again, without a screen protector, not a scratch on it.

The tip itself cannot scratch your screen. Catching a piece of grit between the disc and the screen could. But you'd notice this immediately as it would impair the performance of the the Jot itself.

Honestly...I think some people just make stuff up and post it in reviews.

As for the noise, yes...it makes more than a rubber tipped stylus would. But if you write in cursive, you won't notice it all that much. If you print, more noticeable.

Good to know, maybe I'll give it a shot sometime. I did see people complaining about how it writes when they have screen protectors on, but most styluses seem to hitch and skip when they're on a screen protector (esp Zagg or Ghost Armor). I don't use any screen protection, so as long as it's not a screen scratcher, maybe I'll try it.

Of course, any dirt under a disc getting pushed around on glass has the potential to scratch it. I've seen coworker's iPads that were so filthy, I don't know how they could see the screen to read, haha - fingerprint city :)

Exactly. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that for many users, using a stylus is far less likely to cause any damage than using your fingertip, given that so many people don't take time to clean their screens and they get mucked up with fingerprints and grime carried to screen from your hands.

I just purchased an iFaraday, don't have it yet. I'm tempted to try the Jot as well, but I don't know if I'll even end up using a stylus much.

I just received the iFaraday Artist and I'm looking forward to comparing it to the Jot Pro I ordered.

Has anyone's shipped yet?

This is my first Groupon purchase so I don't know how these work. Will they send me an e-mail once it's shipped?

From the order email:

1. No need to do anything else! By purchasing this Groupon and providing your name and shipping address, you’ve completed the order for your touchscreen stylus pen and it should ship within 7-10 business days.
2. Enjoy!

You should receive an email in the next week or so once it does ship.

Just wanna post my experience with these....

I'm in love with the jot stylish bought a week or two ago, been using it with notes plus.

I found notes plus to be very very good since I can magnify a portion of the page and write.. And the magnification would move as I wrote, if u don't know what I'm talking about u need to YouTube a video it's the ****.

For writing
Like everyone says, cursive is best, or if u write in a way that u can connect all the words without lifting the pen. My writing comes out legible, nice and doesn't look like chicken scratch...

The noise it makes isn't something that would deter me from buying this again, it clicks but it's not THAT loud and annoying, YMMV tho, had I wrote it in a pitch quiet room then maybe it's a little iffy but in a normal setting with indoor background noise this is fine.

I could sign stuff and make notes here and there fine, on notes plus I find that I have to get use to the tiny lag when I'm writing normally (obviously I can't write as fast as a pen and paper) but I feel as if I gave this more time I can learn to write quicker.

Writing in cursive, something I haven't done since grade school when the made u do it, I can write Alot faster and more efficiently, and the lag time is almost not noticeable

For drAwing:
This thing is a beast. I can do fine lines, detailing, hairline hi lights and all that., I love seeing where I draw cause of the disc...

This is totally better than the crappy crayon rubber/foam tipped styluses that I've tried before, u simply cannot beat the jot in accuracy with those, don't care what anyone else say this is just my opinion.

Scratches:
now, I have a grey answer for this....I read all the reviews about scratching and how it's the dirt that gets trap under ur pen that causes the scratches so I was super careful using this, and I used this hard on the screen whether it be to color stuff in, to stencil, to do polka dots, to shade in dots etc etc... And although I keep a conscious effort to make sure the disc surface is clean and the iPad screen is free of debris, other people, friends and the gf use my pen and screen when they play draw something, so I don't have a clear concrete answer as to what may have cause the hairline scratches on my screen which u could only see if u examine it super ****ing close with a spotlight overhead.

After 2 weeks of using this, my screen still looks "flawless", and I use quotations cause the couple of scratches r like a couple mm long, and very light. When I was reading reviews I was picturing like a knife slash scratch or key-to-car kinda deals, but like I state, I don't know if it's cause other ppl who used it didn't use it properly and with precautions or if it's really the pen... Maybe I should've gotten a screen protector who's knows point is the blemishes on my iPad can't be noticeable unless u go looking for it with the proper light and stuff, the scratches r too light to be felt by the finger, so meh.

I'm sure there are other pens out there that can do better, but for 20 bucks regular price this is a champ. Hope this helps those weary buyers

10 Days... my first time using Groupon as well.

They billed my CC on 3/28. Still no shipping information. Has something gone bust? Smells fishy.

Mine arrived yesterday. Didn't recieve any notifications, etc via email. Just walked down to mailbox and there it was.

Got this one in silver. Perfect color match to my new iCarbons brushed aluminum skin.

What carrier service?

USPS? UPS? FEDEX?

Honestly, I'm not positive since I wasn't here when it was delivered. But the package has a ZIP-USPS Delivery Confirmation sticker on it so I'm guessing USPS.

It doesn't look like it was shipped from Adonit either. The stylus is the real deal, same identical packaging as the first I got from Adonit, etc. This one came from:

Shipping Manager
5401 Baumhart Rd.
Warehouse #1
Lorain, OH 44053

Google Maps makes me believe that's just a shipping/logistics/fulfillment agent for Adonit themselves.

The included invoice was from Groupon. But having bought other Groupon items before, this is the norm. Groupon takes your money, then "buys" the item at discounted rate from the product/service supplier.

Its all legit...just not the "normal channel" for these goods. For the money, totally doesn't matter either.

It starts out with UPS, but ends up with your local post office and is delivered with your typical mail.

Mine was delivered today.

Anyone in Canada get this yet? I know in find print it says no Canadians... But jus wondering

Figures, I ordered a Jot Pro yesterday and got a shipping notification about 30 minutes before I saw this thread. Ah well, you win some you lose some.
