Adorama has marked down a collection of MacBooks this week, with instant rebates that start at $150 off Apple's mid 2017 refresh of the 13-inch MacBook Pro and increase to $200 off the 15-inch model. Adorama's markdowns on the latest MacBook Pros provide some of the best sale prices for these custom configurations found online, and other retailers like B&H Photo and MacMall are matching discounts in many instances.

I’d pay $200 above the original price for OS Mavericks that’s updated for security. I like my OS to not look like Fisher Price My First Computer.

I bought my Air in 2014 from Adorama virtually with free AppleCare+ thrown in. Great when they do those deals.

Wonder what physical button or port or moving part goes in the next cycle. Pesky USB-C ports? Space bar? The ‘Z’ button?

USB-C was the right move. A little early? Perhaps but once you’ve been using a 2016 or newer MacBook Pro, you’ll come to love the versatility and speed. I’ve used my friend’s MacBook airs and they’re just so slow and underpowered. Even 2015 and newer models. My friend’s 2015 Air can barely handle streaming a movie over AirPlay to an ATV. I had to use his iPad Pro 10.5 to stream the film stutter-free. On my 2016 15” 2.7 I’ve never run into slowdowns with such basic ,non-intensive stuff.

The touchbar and touchID are great as well. I imagine the next gen MacBook pros will have a 1080p FaceTime cam as well as FaceID. Actually the front cam will probably be upgraded during this gen while FaceID will show up on the 5th gen MacBook pros in a couple of years. You can’t imagine how convenient just using your finger is compared to typing in a password anytime you need to enter the password.

Ask for their "open box" deals everytime, you'd be surprised, up to 700 bux off, if you get in the habit of buying, opening up the box and returning it before 14 days, they don't always ship back to Apple, if everyone does this enough times, there would be so many "open box" deals out there. Does it work?
