hello everyone, could someone please help me? i'll tell you the story from the beginning
so when iOS 16.2 was released i enabled Advanced data protection and added my wife as a recovery contact, when iOS 17 beta was released i installed the beta but after 1 day wanted to get back to ios 16 now after i restored my iphone and installed iOS 16 when you get to the screen when you choose to restore a backup from icloud i signed in but now it tells you that you need a recovery code from your recovery contact...when i checked my wife's iphone i found my contact duplicated 3 times (on the recovery contact menu) and every one gives a code...it took me 3 days to finally be able to restore the backup from icloud cause every time i type the code that i got from her iphone my iphone freezes on that screen after i type the code..after many times it worked finally. now after i restored i went to her iphone and deleted my contact from the contact recovery menu and invited her again to make it only one contact....
now 2 days agoafter iOS 17 was released i did a fresh install, now when i want to restore from icloud again the same problem...but this time when i type the code it won't work...it just freezes on that screen...i tried for 3 days with no chance...did a restore many times...even if i setup my iphone as new iphone everything won't sync (photos, drive, notes, passwords...everything) now i'am at risk of losing +10 years of my photos...and all of my passwords.
this whole thing is buggy as hell...the first time my contact duplicated 3 times...now the codes won't work...and i'am risking of losing all my data...yesterday even my wife's phone won't give the code when you click until i signed off and in again with her icloud account
now could someone please help me? is it just a bug? a server problem? maybe the contact recovery is giving me wrong codes? even if it shows my contact normally? is there a workaround? i only have my iphone, apple watch, apple tv.
