Just wanted to know if anyone else has received an advanced replacement for their iphone? I was quite impressed with Apple's customer service last night. My wife has been having problems with her iphone 3g and after a DFU restore it was still giving her issues so I called Apple for her. After about 30 minutes on the phone with them they said we will just send her a replacement phone. So I asked if they meant a loaner phone to use while they checked hers out and she said no it will be the replacement phone and she will send her old one in and keep the one we send her. So less than 24hrs after I called FedEx delivered a nice new (refurb) to us and it didn't cost me a dime. Just wanted to show my appreciation to them. Lots of people on here complain about Apple's customer service but I have always been impressed.

Their service is indeed excellent in regards to the advanced replacements. However, I've had the misfortune of getting not one but TWO dud replacement phones in the last couple of weeks. The first replacement had warped plastic around the corners, a loose vibrate motor and really bad light leak in the left side of the screen. When I called Apple they were willing to swap it out again and waive the advanced replacement fee. The second phone is almost perfect but has many stuck pixels. I'll be near an Apple Store next week so I'm gonna switch it out again and continue to examine replacement phones until I get one that doesn't suck.

So far I've been quite happy with Apple's service but their quality control needs a serious kick in the ass.

Seems to me like:

The service side of Apple is relatively good. I have had the iPhone serviced and there were no problems.

The sales side of Apple is good as well. They helped me a lot picking out my new MacBook.

The Developer Consumer Services sucks bad. You are on hold for way too long listening to an annoying automated chick with a way too annunciated british accent telling you how important your call is to Apple and the people on there have nothing good to say. Their intelligence is null and they repeat themselves to often in contradicting ways. They irk me if you couldn't tell.

2 out of 3 isn't bad I guess. :apple:
