advice about an eshop?

Hi,

I am thinking of making my own online retail store as a little project. I don't really want anything snazzy just something that will be functional and I can build myself.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any online resources or books which are good, where I can learn from and possibly make my own shop as I am very confused where to start and how to go about its design.

anyone know of any other possible web development forums where I could look for ideas? I tried on google but it is hard to filter out the rubbish ones.

I just tried google...nothin. therefore, I can safely conclude that because google does not have it, that it does not exist.

When in doubt though, I go to gaiaonline. It's an anime community, but it's the largest forum site, ever, I think.

Good luck, and if you find out, let me know...I'd be curious myself as to knowing how you did it.
