Advice for Iphone4

Hi,

I may be in the wrong thread or someone already asked this question. But the forum is already congested and seem to find answer for this. If someone can point me to that thread, i appreciate it. Anyways, i have an Iphone4, bought by a friend from canada, says it is unlocked, but when i activated here in some country in Asia, it says i needed the original carrier. A friend of mine went to canada yesterday and i asked him to buy me a local micro sim, rogers, to be specific. if i put it in my iphone here in asia would it activate my phone? and then use my local sim?

I just need to maximize the capabilities if the phone ( facetime, imessage, push notif...etc.)

I don't think it will work that way. If u activate it with a sim card and use another sim card then you won't get push notifications at all nor u will be able to use facetime and iMessage.

Is this true? never heard that before.
