I have an i5 2010 MBP with 8 gig of RAM and a 256gig SSD + 1TB drive configured as a fusion drive. So it's almost 5 years old and I've never had a PC (as in Windows PC) longer than 2.5 years. So I'm trying to decide if my desire to upgrade is force of habit or if their is another good argument to get a new retina MBP. I can't really say I have any issues with what I have. I'd appreciate a few comments.

First, just FYI, you are in the "Mac Pro" forum. I'm sure a mod will move this thread over to the appropriate forum for you.

Second, I think we need just a bit more info about what you use your computer for. What's your workflow like? I still use an '09 13" MBP as my main laptop. It's stripped down to a simple 64GB SSD and 8GB of RAM, and it's the base processor, but all I ever use it for is web surfing and on the go computing. Is your laptop under-performing for what you need? Have you had any issues with it? From what I can tell, that machine is about as maxed as it gets. If it's not holding you down, I think (depending on what you use your machine for) that you might be good for a bit longer.

Hopefully with a bit more info we can give you a little bit of a better idea.
