Just wanting peoples thoughts on the 2.4GHz vs 2.5GHz MBP 17" late 2011..
I am retiring my early 2011MBP 17" 2.2GHZ & want to stay with the old school 17" format..

From what i read the late 2011 was a very minor upgrade & performance boost with the GPU going to a Radeon 6770M & the processor a few points up from my 2.2GHz..Core i7 (I7-2720QM)

Question is will i really notice any difference between the 2.4 & the 2.5GHz CPUs in the Late 2011 MBps 17"?
I see they're both Intel Core i7 with the 2.4 being (I7-2760QM) & the 2.5 a (I7-2860QM)

I will be adding 16GB of Ram & an SSD & as i use it predominately for audio (Pro Tools) every ounce of CPU power is helpful..but price-wise I'd be looking at shelling out an extra $500 for the 2.5GHz…both New with Apple warranty..

Is it Crazy to spend that much extra on 0.1GHz extra CPU ? or are the I7-2860QM 's a much better processor?
Any advice or thoughts regarding squeezing extra power out of these things much appreciated..

LOL thanks mate that's what i needed to hear..😎
The 2.5 GHz it is then...😀

I paid $1400 for my 2.5Ghz Late 2011 17" MBP, with 8GB Ram and AppleCare.

If I were looking at a $500 difference between the 2.4 vs 2.5, all other things being equal, no, I would not have spent that $500.

I'd rather have a Crucial m500 960GB SSD with a 2.4Ghz i7 than the standard mechanical drive and a 2.5Ghz i7, for example.

Do love the speed of this 17" beast, though 😉 (11139 geekbench)
