Do Apple stores (not the online store; but the physical stores) in Japan carry macs with a US keyboard?

I don't live near an Apple Store but I've heard that it depends on the store. For example, the Ginza Store in Tokyo always has a lot of US keyboard models in stock while you're less likely to find as many as the Shibuya Store.

So, you are saying the Ginza store has more Macs with US keyboard than the Shibuya store?

My MBA was bought at the Shinsaibashi store with an English keyboard straight from the factory.

You will not have any problem buying a Mac in Japan, you can set OS X to run in English when you install it. Also there is an English speaking line for the online Apple Store in Japan. On the Internet Online store you can buy the MacBook with a Japanese keyboard or a US keyboard at no extra charge. Also, they do have Apple stores in all the major cities in Japan, especially Tokyo and Osaka. Almost all our Macs here came from the Osaka Shinsaibashi store and I use the English keyboard and OS always. Before OS X I had to use Japanese, OS X is a winner. Here is the Apple Store English Line Number, use it in Japan or go to the Apple store. 0077-78673-6 it says it's toll Free. I do not mean to sound like an Apple rep, just trying to help.
Can I ask if I can have the custom unit if I drop by the Apple store in Japan? like having a custom storage or memory. Thanks

I don't really know for sure about the walk in Apple Stores for that, I always put the memory in myself, it's cheaper and the same goes for storage, lately it's getting harder to open the machines and do it yourself, your best off on calling an Apple store or visiting one in person and asking them, all the Apple Stores have people who can speak English, in fact they have more and more native speakers working in the stores over the last 10 years or so. In Japan lately buying on the Internet is so much cheaper that I have not bought any computer from the Apple Store for 8 years now, but buying on line is sometimes difficult to get upgrades. The last Mac I bought was the 13inch MacBook Pro, I just bought it stock, but it was a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than the Apple Store for the same exact thing.

My post you quoted was over 6 years old.

That said, I doubt you can buy anything but stock configurations at the stores; hence why they are called stock configurations, and not built-to-order models.
