Hey everyone,

I need to install windows on my iMac, but I want to purchase a SSD instead of using my iMac storage. I’ve never purchased one before and I need advice on which brand it’s best. I’m currently eyeing the LaCie SSD with 500GB. Is this a good one?

I have sold thousands of these. The Samsung T5 and T7s are good, but slow if you're using it as a startup drive. If you're just using it for pictures or files it is fine. I would stay away from the Lacies. They have the most issues and the most returns. Everything depends on your budget. You could save a lot by making the drive yourself. Simply buy an enclosure and put a internal drive inside it and you're done. I have a NVMe SSD which I made and it costs only around $200 for a 2TB. Blazing fast and very reliable.
