hi all, totaly new to macs, just bought a lime clamshell ibook 366 from ebay running os 9.2, I upgraded to 320 ram and have bought an upgrade disk for os 10.2
 this may be a dumb question but how do i go about upgrading the os???? can i simply install the disks or do i need to format the HD - and if so.... how do i go about it as i know absalutely nothing about mac. (i bought it as my kids use macs at primary school and want them to have one at home).

thanx in advance and be gentle with me!!!

You'll need an earlier full version of OSX to upgrade from, if I remember correctly. Unless of course the 10.2 disk is a full install. Then it's insert disk one and hit the 'C' key on start up.

Are you sure that your kids will even use it as it will not be the same as what they use at school as it is so old.

if the OS 10.2 disc you bought is a retail version.. then simply insert the disc. restart and hold down "C" key.. and follow the instructions from there.
