Total: About $4000 CAN 🙁

And I will be getting the new iPhone, but Ill get my dad to get it as a BDay gift 😉

So any advice or recommendations? I will also be getting the free iPod Touch and probably a free printer. I got around $3000 right now, so in about a months time I will purchase. My goal is July 20 🙂

You might want to consider dropping the HP monitor for something like the newer Dell 2311H. You save a few $CAD (I'm an american, I looked up some prices but I don't know what you're paying) and you get a nicer monitor. Find a friend or a friend of a friend with a colour calibrator, hook it up, call it a day. Long story short its IPS as compared to TN - take your pick.

That's just my advice, I'm anal retentive about screens. The uniformity would be nice for video editing, just FYI.

seems like a lot bulk, your really just need the laptop itself. the rest is all personal preference. for one thing i don't suggest owning a macbook, iphone, and iPad all together. Also the magic mouse is rather a poor performer and uncomfortable for extended media work.

My personal suggestion is to drop the iPad. thats $500 US, and the i7 is quite a bit extra, not sure if you need it, especially if you are using FCE and not looking at adding at least one external HDD (which I would recommend). If you get the hi-res screen, I don't see a big need for another monitor, and the speakers are pretty expensive. Personally, I don't need any more than my 13" MB, relatively inexpensive 20" LCD, and keyboard/mouse.
