I just wanted to get feedback from anyone with their thoughts on my pending upgrade of my unlocked/jailbroken 2g iPhone to firmware 2.2.

Can anyone comment on their upgrade to 2.2 from 2.0 or another version? Of course you hear nightmares of bricking and other issues but I want to hear first hand from someone who's on 2.2 (or went ot 2.2) and get their input and recommendations.

Thanks!

The first gen iphone won't be relocked if you update through itunes, because the baseband stays the same. I would play it safe and update through pwnagetool.

I've got everything I need to use quickpwn to re-unlock (if necessary) and re-jailbreak so that shouldn't be an issue.

What I'd like to know is user experience with 2.2 on a 2g and if there are any issues that they have came across.

Thanks!

I personally don't have a 2G iphone, I have the 3G version. But I was reluctant to update to 2.2 from 2.1 but I finally took the plunge and did it through pwnage tool. Everything went smoothly, and I haven't had any problems running 2.2. Maybe someone else out there who went from 2.0 to 2.2 on a 2G has any feedback?
