AEBS with ext HDD

guys, what setup do you have? what brand of ext HDD do you have? is it recommended to use those ext HDD without power adapter with AEBS? i read some people having problems with ext HDD that goes to sleep? should i get a ext HDD that does not go to sleep? i preferably want 1TB , 750GB or 500Gb what can you suggest?

Theres been a few posts about this. A search would throw up some good info for you.
Anyways, I use a Western Digital USB only MyBook. 1TB. It was cheap and has been working just great so far. Backs up 3 Macs plus an external hd that is connected to one of the Macs.
