Hi All,

After our success with Affinity Designer (the first product we have launched on Mac) we are now pleased to announce that our image-editing software, Affinity Photo, is now in public beta for free.

Check out our vid for a preview:

You can sign up to the beta here: https://affinity.serif.com/photo/

Thanks,
Ash

I was just watching the vid when i spotted the tweet. I like what I see and i've downloaded the great looking app! Thanks.

I saw the video and just downloaded the Beta too, very excited to begin playing with Affinity Photo! It looks wonderful. :)

Check out the split screen slider thingee, where you can see before/after with ONE window by moving the slider around. Love that. The warping, perspective tools are also quite interesting.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't know about those. I've been mesmerized by the gouache brushes so far...

Just. In. Time. I've got about 2 weeks left on my yearly CS subscription before the yearly "commitment" renewal, and signed up for the beta. :D

I have to say that that does look very impressive. As a creative cloud subscriber that relies on lots of other Adobe applications, it's hard for me to justify switching to something else for the time being. However, this is certainly something worth keeping an eye on. Well done Serif.

Thanks CrickettGrrrl

The refine selection method is so similar to Photoshop, I'd be surprised if there wasn't a lawsuit. On a positive note, it it looks very powerful, and Photoshop users would have no problem transitioning.

I'd like to try that lighting tool, but I couldn't figure out which one it is. Anyone know? Sort of a triangular gradient tool.

We already have the Illustrator equivalent from Serif, maybe we will get the whole lot over time.

Some serious competition for Adobe is great.

Good point, wrong company being sued. I was wondering the same thing, more like why hasn't On1 gone after Adobe after all of these years, after PS more or less lifted the masking tools from Extensis Mask Pro, now owned by On1? Unless there was some licensing deal. I knew a couple of employees at Extensis, and they were majorly pissed off at the time...
