Shaking head is usually a sign of disgust...lol.

Try visiting the apple site....

Lol, now I get it. I just wanted to double check. So I take it that you can get a MacBook and the free iPod under the student discount. The iPod os for students, and so is the discount...:eek:

Tee hee!

:apple: FTW!

No discount for K-12. Discount is for college though if you are enrolled.

I am enrolled! Orientation is on my BIRTHDAY. So can I get the MacBook and the iPod touch on the Educational Discount? Or not? I am pretty sure my parents will fly with this. My mom agreed already.

I can be a birthday, congrats for getting in to college at age 16 present. I am going to add in some of my own feeble funds as well.

EEP! I can't wait to get a MacBooK!

You can order through the Apple Online Education Store.

I copied this:

Who is Eligible To Purchase
The following education individuals are eligible to purchase through the Apple Store for Education individuals:

  • Faculty or staff member of a public or private Higher Education Institution in the United States
  • Student currently attending or accepted into a public or private Higher Education Institution in the United States
  • Parent purchasing on behalf of their child who is a student currently attending or accepted into public or private Higher Education Institution in the United States

It shouldn't be a problem. ;)
Hope this helps. :)

I'm pretty sure the Educational discount also goes for students in K-12, not just college students.

Good suggestion...

Nope it's only for college students, teachers or adminstrators. It sucks and I don't think it's fair, but that is the way it is.

Apple Website said:
If you are a college student or a teacher, administrator, or staff member of any grade level, you qualify for special pricing on Apple computers, software, and select third party products. Quanity limits apply. See terms and conditions.

That discount is how I got my 2.5 ghz MacBook Pro, Case, Keyboard, Mouse, XP/Vista, iPod Dock, and iPod Nano for $2,600 + a $200 rebate. (It retails for $2500)

I just checked and the 2.1ghz MacBook is $999/$1k.

Get an ID from the college. If you are enrolled, just bring the registration paper that shows you are taking classes there, and they will make a College ID with it.

That way, you can impress all the ladies with your new College ID and a New MacBook.

LOL I am pretty sure the ladies don't find computer nerds attractive. I am just kidding xD! I am probably going to get my ID sometime before Orientation. WHICH IS ON MY FLIPPING BIRTHDAY. Seriously, August 26th is the most common birthday ever :p.

Mine is the 22nd! I've only known two other people to have that birthday.

Oh and the ladies love computer nerds in college. As long as you are an outgoing type and you're able to have a conversation, then they are great. I can't tell you how many girls have started a conversation when I pulled out my iPod Touch.

"Is that an iPhone?"
I always love the look when I tell them no.

Btw - I'm not sure if your college will let you or not, but why not dorm? I lived at home for the first two years and I regret it. The dorming experience is something all in itself. Not to mention that the kids who went away to college were always better of after.

I would dorm but I am jsut going to a local community college for two years, and getting my associates. Then I can go to the University of Washington :D!! Where I plan to get a dorm if apartment rent is outrageous.

I can only speak for the USF - Tampa area, but we have some off campus apartments that are only for students. They usually run 100 cheaper than on campus. $500-$700/month all utilities included.

After graduation, I managed to find a nice two bedroom for $725 + Power and internet.

All the monies add up fast. If you have any questions about college, you can feel free to PM me.
