Just completed the update to Sonoma 14.5. When I click Messages, the icon just bounces. After a few seconds, I get a message that says "Messages Not Responding". Ignore or Force Quit.

Choose Ignore and it just continues the icon bounce and then the Not Responding message comes back.

Choose Force Quit. It does quit. Try to launch and again and same thing happens.

Restarted the Mac twice to the same result.

Anyone have this issue or any suggestions?

Any luck getting this resolved? Now seeing this on two MacBooks with MacOS 14.5
Messages and FaceTime both broken.

I kept restarting, Force Quitting messages. It finally started working. Scared to do a restart now.

Same. Two MacBooks, both restarted cleanly and finally all iCloud services were restored - Messages, Facetime, and Handoff.

Whew. 😪
