After a couple days with the Macbook. (Review)

I'm just wondering how you find the FPS when playing a quicktme trailer or any video clip / game in general?

Well most games are diff, but in Quicktime go to Window, then 'Show Movie Info'

Battery Life: I calibrated my battery Friday night, and I know get about 3:45 - 4 hrs with 6/16 on the screen brightness, Firefox, iTunes, and Adium with some occasional Quicktime clips. Not exactly the 6 hrs that the Apple website shows

Temp: I downloaded CoreDuoTemp, and I'm getting a reading of 47º C with normal use (6/16 on the screen brightness, Firefox, iTunes, and Adium with some occasional Quicktime clips)

Under some extensive use (6/16 on the screen brightness, Firefox, iTunes, PhotoBooth, HD 720p Playback and iPhoto) I'm getting a reading of 70º C I ran at this setting for only about 5 mins, and that wasn't enough to make the case burning hot. (Also incase anyone is wondering, the 720p is still playing at 24 FPS with all this going on)

is that the cpu temp? I have the istat nano widget and i would jsut love to see a comparison between my pb and the mb.

Yep that's the CPU temp.


I think my PowerBook read around the same during normal use.

i got it from COMPUSA...a little expensive but i dont like waiting for things to ship it was 200$

See the thread about upgrading RAM and hard drive for interesting choices about prices like upgrading to a 2 Gb memory for about $144 and other things too

I think my PowerBook read around the same during normal use.

yeah my pb runs at about 45 with average use and up to abou 60 when im pushing it.

Apple's six hours is probably 2/16 brightness, airport and bluetooth off. No streaming video...

As a long time Intel PC user, that 70c is FLAMING HOT!! The more I read stuff here like this, the more I don't want a mac.
