After Achive Install Can I Delete Previous User?

i run leopard and had a problem with safari and the system in general so i had to do an archive reinstall of leopard. now everything is fine again but it shows a folder as previous user and is taking up a bunch of precious hard drive space now. can i delete the previous user section?

I'd try to delete it first from the Accounts Preference Pane first. It's safe to delete otherwise.
