I tried the X but swapped it for an 8. Just feel the size is perfect for one-handed use, prefer Touch ID and prefer keeping the home button. If Apple can somehow remove the top bezel and give it an OLED screen that would be great but I doubt they will.
Each unto their own. Get used to Face ID as that will be standard on all iPhones eventually. As already said, cameras and earpieces and sensors need to go somewhere, and that will be shrunken bezels. Small, not got rid of entirely, and for good reason - it's a phone, not a television mounted on a wall.

Removing the top bezel is impossible. The camera, Face ID sensors etc. go there, not to mention the all important ear piece on the phone. I mean it still is a phone right. Oh are maybe we can remove the earphone piece and just use headphones to talk. If you were to say trim the top bezel okay but remove it is a dream.
Currently impossible. I'm not saying it will be possible soon, but yeah, the notch isn't going anywhere for a while.

The Essential Phone basically has no top bezel

You never buy a first year model car for the same reason they call the phone a beta product. iPhone iPhone 3g cracked, 6 bent, iPhone 4 antenna, iPhone 7 water seal issues. It’s an every other model thing that the kinks get ironed out

I never had those issues with any of those phones, same with my X. The issues are overblown. Every phone has new tech and is susceptible to issues. The iPhone 8 has its share as well.

Yeah doesn’t the 8 or 8 plus Suffer from Split Gate. Where the phone just splits open after the battery expands.

The iPhone X is bananas. It’s the best phone EVER made. Can’t even really call it a phone. It’s on a whole new level, in a category of its own.

it still runs simple ios 11, just like every current iphone too.... feels in the end like, well, an iphone. those exaggerating threads on MR LOL

There will always be issues with some phones when it comes to manufacturing millions of devices. No reason to deem it a "gate" as that typically means it is a widespread issue. If it's a widespread issue, there is a recall issued.

Exactly, cars get refreshed with more and more regularity. Gives people reason to part with their money.

That's what I did. I'd been wanting a Challenger since they came back in 2008. The car looked good... but could look better. I also didn't like the interior on the 2008-2014 models... too much like a minivan.

The blue is the 2015 refresh... based off the 1971 model. The 2008-2014's on the right are based off the 1970.

It's not even close. Dodge nailed it with the refresh.

My 2015...

Was worth the wait.

I can’t comment on the X but I did upgrade from a 6s to an 8 and I think hardware wise it’s perfect but iOS 11 is just a buggy pile of crap.

I’d love it if iOS 12 was basically just one massive bug fix. Iron out all the kinks and bugs and make the software as refined and perfected as the hardware.

In all honesty I had hoped for a redesign because I knew I was upgrading this year and I was a little sceptical thinking I’d feel like I bought the same phone twice. But I am actually really enjoying owning the 8. I adore the colour (went for gold) and I love the speed and camera improvements over the 6s.

The X was never in the running for me because for my needs there’s nothing it does or has that makes it worth £400 (X plus AppleCare+ v the 8 plus AppleCare+) more than I paid for the 8

4200 lb beast she is... I told my friends you wanna drive a muscle car... get a Challenger. If you wanna drive a sardine can... get a Mustang.

Sorry for off topic. I got you beat. My Ford SHO weighs 4,327 pounds, but yet can keep up with a Corvette (But the Vette has a faster shifting transmission). Still fun though.
