did reboot? reset the smc? reset nvram? there's no practical reason the audio should be different. do you use any 3rd-party audio apps (like boom?)...

I do not use 3rd-party audio apps other then VLC to watch content.
I do have the sound problem watching youtube videos or mkv files
How can I reset smc or nvram? I did reboot already.

are you having the issue in itunes as well? anyway:

reset nvram

reset smc

i suggest reading the info there first, then trying these things...

(EDIT: oops, meant 'music', not itunes... have to get used to that)

After I installed Catalina and the updates my 2018 MacBook Pro 13" speakers sound terrible.
Does anybody else have a problem like this?
I've got the same problem here on my unsupported MacPro 4.1
Everything is working just fine except the audio quality of the built in speaker. Sometimes it's ok for a minute but then again it's just cracking/producing noise. You can still hear music but it sound terrible. Haven't found a solution yet and hope that it's just a bug they will fix in the next update.
