I can get that same computer, Apple Certified (refurbed) from the Apple Store for $1699. Why would I buy from Amazon then?

If you purchase from amazon.com there would be no sales tax, that is if you live in a state with sales tax. There is always a possibility that amazon.com might have a special on memory or some other item that would be appealing. Just compare what you are getting from each place. When I comes to getting an Apple computer, I prefer to buy from Apple. So I would lean toward the refurb.
