After disassembaly, I have no display. Could it be just the LCD, or worse?

After replacing the digitizer, and reattaching the LCD, I got nothing but the black light (bright white screen) when I pressed the wake button. It came up for about 2 seconds, and then would go black. I hit the button a few times, and every time the white screen would show for 2 seconds.

I was VERY careful with the LCD taking it out, and the ribbon cables look perfect. I think the display may have been turned on in the middle of the installation (I think this may have caused the problem). I don't want to order a new LCD if it isn't going to help, and I have tried every solution I can find (restore, hard reboot, disconnecting the battery). Think I should try a new LCD even though the current one LOOKS functional?
