After Effects 7 on MBP

Anyone using AE on MBP? I am curious how's the speed through rosetta... Should I bother until the release with a universal one?

I have AE 6.5 and it crashes every minute or so. I don't even work on AE in my MBP anymore, have to go back to my PPC Mini.

I used to run AE 7 on my MBP, and it worked pretty good. It is a bit on the slow side, but as long as you have a decent amount of RAM, you should be good.

it works fine on my below macbook....rendering just takes forever....it hanst crashed yet

How much ram do you have in your MBP? Both After Effects and Rosetta are RAM hogs, I could see trouble if you're using them together... especially with under a gig of RAM.

How does C2D and CD compare when using After Effects? As long as rendering 1 minute doesn't take like 15 minutes... back in the days of G4 and FCP *sigh*

Works pretty nicely for simple to intermediate stuff on my 17" C2D MBP.

AE7 runs well on my MBP (see sig) - much faster than on my 1Ghz G4 laptop.
