After formatting WD My Book?

I'm in the process of formatting the WD My Book external drive. My question is, do I have to do anything to the drive once it finishes formatting? Or can I simply start scheduling automatic My Book backups?

Provided it's formatted properly, there's nothing else you need to do before setting up backups.
