Do the current models get moved to the clearance section of Apple's online store when the product line is refreshed? The current line up is fine for what I need but I'll wait to purchase if I can save $.

Me either, but I did buy my first iMac ay Costco in January 2006, they had discontinued 20" G5's with Apple Care bundled for $1499 I think.
That is the only time I've ever seen a Mac computer at Costco.
Years ago I saw iMac G3s (450 MHz) being liquidated at Costco in Canada when the Summer 2001 line iMacs came out. Since then, I have never seen another Apple product offered at Costco in Canada.
Occasionally, Apple will list the old models at a reduced rate beside the new models until stock diminishes. They did this with the PowerMac G4s if I recall.
I don't see much difference between the clearance centre and the refurbished store on the Apple website in Canada. Maybe it is different for other country websites.

Costco uk are stocking the current MacBook pro 13" at the mo. Well the southern stores are.

You can't choose it but if you buy 17" 2.8GHz, you may be lucky and get a BTO model with upgraded CPU, RAM and/or HD.
