Most of the hardware rumors I keep hearing about for iPhone 7 will have dual camera setup and waterproofing. Stuff we already seen a couple years ago with Android devices. Then OLED using Samsung's panels for next year. Yippee! What next? Fast and wireless charging?
Once you start using one iOS device, it pretty much feels the same. That is the point though since even have half decade old devices still get software. They want the consistent user experience and hardware/software integration. Blah blah blah ecosystem, I get all that. I just think people who love to tinker will get bored with it faster inside that walled garden.
Design-wise, even iPhones are no longer the sexiest. S6/S7 edge, Huawei P9, and Xiaomi Mi 5 are just as sleek and sexy. Only reason why SE gets praised because the 6 series design was so awful in comparison which doesn't look to change for the 7 series. Back in 2013, the HTC One M7 still looked better than an iPhone 5s. I think Apple can do alot better if the iPhone 5 series is considered their best design.
More dual edged displays are coming. Foldable displays are coming. Guess which platform will have it all first? Android. It seems Apple is acting me too and now does all the following after a couple of years...
