After going through every, single, workflow fix on the Terran *and* Martian internets I finally got the stereo pair to happen, and I wasn’t even trying. The last things I did were —
- Factory reset the HP
- Did not bring my phone to the HP. I got distracted with another task and forgot about it, since this was the 10^nth iteration
- About two weeks pass. At some point the HP shuts down
- I unplug and replug the HP, no factory reset
- Since it was never processed on the phone since the factory reset, it popped up on the phone and I completed the set up.
- A surprisingly short time later I look at the Home app and lo and behold! The HP status was no longer “configuring“ but “not playing“!
- Checked the settings finally, for the first time since October, my Wi-Fi network was registered on the settings page.
