After thunder & lightning ...amber lite

Have iCapsule....flashing amber/yellow light instead of green.....noting in system prefs lets me do anything and airport utility seems useless except to tell me the obvious.
Any ideas??

Assuming you mean "Time Capsule", it's not clear what your question is. Is it working at all besides the yellow light?

A couple of things that might help find out what's wrong:
Do you see your wireless network -- or some generic one containing "Apple" in the name?
Does System Prefs > Networking acknowledge that there is a connection when you plug a cable in? (yellow or green light on Ethernet)
Do you get an IP address on either (not self-assigned)?
