After update AppleTV 4K flashing

Hi everyone,

After my AppleTV 4K updated earlier this week my picture has started to flash (quick white screen) every minute or so. I thought it was my home lighting at first...but I narrowed it down to the AppleTV.

It doesnt do this when I am running my Amazon FireTV or Playstation 4...it is the same behavior I was experiencing when using Dolby Vision setting on my LG OLED TV. Switching back to HDR fixed that issue...but now it is happening in HDR.

Oh, I am using a high speed HDMI cable and the 4.2.2 setting -but it also does it in 4.2.0 too.

Anyone having same issue?Any idea how to fix it?

Close....mine was doing a complete washout white ‘blink’ every min or so.

I went back in and completely reset my LG and AppleTV and set it to Dolby Vision to see if it would continue...so far so good. I havent been at home all day...will see if it starts up again when I do.

I’m seeing a similar issue on my XBR65X850e, only in Netflix and Amazon when streaming 4K content. A hard reboot of the TV seems to temporarily solve the issue for me.

Out of interest is your base resolution set to 4k60 or 4k50?

It is set to 4K60

For this last week I have been changing between 4K60 and Dolby Vision... as both will eventually start the 'blink' behavior after a couple of days. I hqve been watching more TV than normal as I have been home recovering from surgery - so I was wondering if it may be an overheating issue? Just a thought.
