Where are places that others have gotten aftermarket, replacement batteries for Macbooks from ? I have a '13 MBA that I plan to replace but give to one of our kids. I've actually replaced it twice from OWC and am not impressed with theirs. With the first one, I futzed around too long and the warranty/return period passed so I figured it was a bad battery or fluke and gave them a 2nd chance. This battery isn't much better.... I don't get more than 3-4 hours of web browsing (Firefox) or if it's below 15% and I close the lid, after a few hours it will be completely dead. It's not an "energy" setting I've changed either - everything is "default".

First battery was this one: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/BAP13MBA55/
Second battery was this one: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/BAP13MBA60/

The 2nd one is supposed to be a new/improved version too.

Not too interested in a battery from Apple because of the cost.

I'm familiar with iFixit and they do have batteries available. Two recent reviews don't bode well for them though.... Price is cheaper than OWC (I can skip the "tools" add-on since I keep the screwdrivers OWC provided).

What's confusing as much as anything is the battery details under System Report make everything look great. It still shows a capacity of 7130 mAh. I do see that it says "Fully charged: No" but it's sitting at 100% and plugged in. I have done the calibration process too (more than once). Coconut does say the design capacity is 8000 mAh.

Here's where you went flyin' off the rails.

You've already wasted money on two lower-priced batteries that... failed to meet your standards of performance. Gonna throw more "good money after bad" ???

Take the MBA to a brick-n-mortar Apple Store (make an appt. online for the genius bar).
See if they'll offer you the $199 battery replacement.
For that, you get:
- a new APPLE-LABELED OEM battery
- installation
- a short warranty.

One of the best "battery deals" out there, in my opinion.
