Haha... I don't care really
Isn't it funny how we have to say things like that? Like there's some sort of stigma to it. Unless you're an old dude trying to pick up teenage girls (or pretending to be a teenage girl) I don't see the problem. Yeah, some of the pages are poorly coded. Welcome to the internet.

So why all the hatin' playahs?

hello everyone - so there was a power outage in LA yesterday. unfortunately it directly hit the data center where myspace's servers are located. lots of people were affected. the backup power failed and that's why myspace has been screwy since yesterday afternoon. we are still working to get everything back in order. i know what most of the problems are, it's just giong to take awhile to fix them. thx for your patience!

has anybody here seen the snl skit concerning myspace? it was so funny, i also thought it was funny that i figured out what the older men were up to quicker than my mom.

if you want to see it, go here, then click videos under season, choose 2005-2006, and choose myspace. its really funny.

edit: i dont think it has the whole clip, but maybe my memory is faulty.

Earlier I had that thought. I actually said to a friend, "The Wicked Witch is dead!... for now."

The ironic thing is we both have MySpaces... but... it is a good communication tool.
And I'm sure Facebook is a million times better. But I'm not old enough yet, and I've also heard it's crappy for hs...

Yeah, I know of agree.
And I'll admit it.
At this point, it's kind of annoying that's it down.... but still slightly humourous.

Yeah, that was was I was referring to. Although I had heard about it prior to that. And knowing some of the people I do, I completely believe it.

A little yeah. I'll bet a friend of mine is going nuts, but I haven't heard anything from her since she can't send any MySpace messages. :p Of course, the power went out her for an hour the other day and I was freaking out, so, you know... glass houses.

Haha, yeah. The other day someone told me they'd sent me a message and I totally assumed it was email.
Then there was no email.
It turned out it was a MySpace message.

You don't have yours set to automatically notify you via e-mail when you get a message? I get those all the time when I'm at work, even though I tell people not to do that since I can't check MySpace at work. Stupid Websense.

I just wish it would stay down. Forever.... I am waiting for some smart person to either hack it and screw it up so bad that it cannot be restored, or someone puts a virus(or some type of trojan) on their server and absolutely kills the enitre Myspace server!! Muahhahahaha!!!! heheI hate Myspace.

I hate that. I signed up on my spam-ish email account.
I think email alerts are invasive, personally.
If I want to know if I got new stuff I'll just check MySpace...

Whoa. Mine never sends me emails when I get anything (messages, friend requests, comments, or picture requests)

Maybe I set it not to. I don't remember.

Still out?!! I don't frequent myspace.com, but I had to just now out of curiosity. Quite remarkable that such an enormous site can let this happen. I suppose it is good to let the internet get a little rest before myspace comes back online.

There must be something more severe happening than a "power outage." Surely they would have backup systems to keep the site up and the money rolling in.

Yeah, it's really weird. I'm still getting the Pacman screen. Other people are getting other error messages or it doesn't work @ all.
It was working earlier today, around noonish I believe.
I wonder if this will make news at all?

In reply to my own message. The title of the "error" page says that they are "Upgrading." To me, upgrading is different than maintainance and power outages.

I think that's a generic title, it said that yesterday too. I'm kind of happy the thing is down, it means that much more work I can ignore until later!

I kinda like it. I check my e-mail way more than MySpace. If I don't have a message, I don't go there unless I'm blogging or looking up info on a band. Plus the whole thing with Websense blocking it at work.

How else would I find out that one of my friends sent me another pointless forward or some random hot girl is spamming me to go to her XXX webcam when I should be working? :p

Weird, it should. Check your settings. Er, when it's back up that is. ;)
